Net effect on the election
Man. All the left leaning folks I talk to/read the blogs of (none of whom voted for Kerry, but rather, against Bush) have sure been belly aching since the dust settled from the election. Everyone is saying things like “are Americans really so stupid?” IMHO, it’s fairly obvious we’re NOT stupid enough to vote Mr. Wishy-Washy Charile Brown into the white house, which should be considered a good thing. And with the lack of a better alternative, we chose the only candidate we had left, who, in all honesty, isn’t doing a bad job whether you agree with his principles and policies or not.
What has struck me as particularly funny about the aftermath is the “disbelief” expressed by the bloggers out there. This article captures it. My fave quote:
“The longer the Democrats pretend that their vacuum of righteousness is actually reaching the public at large, helped by NPR, the more trouble they will be in. Be it an internet wasteland like New Mexico or fat pipe rich Connecticut, it doesn’t matter. George W. Bush kicked your blogging ass.”
Update: FWIW… I never stated above that Bush has done / is doing a “good job”, and never said there aren’t any problems with how things are being run. The point of this post was to note the apparent disbelief of the bloggers out there who thought their endorsement of Kerry signified more than simply the notation of their own opinion.
k… kicked ass hmmmm? doing a good job hmmm?
did anyone else notice the peculiar hint of red amongst stated with the lowest education levels… maybe thats why bush is leaving children behind with his education policies…
so onto the good job comment…
when dubya put his hand on that bible and takes the oath… do you think he listens to the words he has practiced? “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” wikipedia.com
so… are gay people not citizens of the united states? because today… there is nothing in the consitution that says it is ok to discriminate against people for sexual preference… so why does he want to add something to the constition… i think its just the hate that he used to be voted in… I am sorry but he has done a horrible job protecting the people of the united states… environment, education, welfare, healthcare… oh wait he has increased our spending on bombs that we drop on innocent people… I am sorry.. he has done a horrible job… I am sick that there were states that passed bans on gay marriage… i am sick that there are states where senators are saying gay people and single mothers should be unable to educate our children… and a questions for dubya… if life is so precious that we need to save fetuses and not allow stem cell research… why do you kill people? why do you kill the people of american, iraq and afghanistan… sorry James - I have to disagree that he does a good job…
