You know your pregnant wife has lost it when…
I'm sure it's common knowledge among most people who have been through the experience, but word on the street is that women with child have been known to suffer from weakened cognitive ability. (Was that PC enough or what?) Jess pulled something tonight that confirms this for any of you who were still doubters....
We stopped at the mailboxes in the usual fashion on the way down our street as we were coming home tonight. Jess and I carpool to work, but she prefers to drive in the morning and I end up driving home in the afternoon/evening. Jess got out of the car to get the mail, got back in and we continued home.
When we arrived, she sat in the car for a few seconds looking through the mail and found a small envelope that appeared to actually be something legitimate in the sea of junk mail we're used to getting. She turned it over and it had this nice little sticker "sealing" the envelope and turned it back on the front-side to see if she could determine who it was from. Reading the cancellation stamp from the post office on there and seeing it was cancelled in Las Vegas, I knew right away it was a thank you card from the recent baby shower Jess attended for her cousin a couple weeks ago.
She proceeds to open the envelope to read the card and we find a nice little card with the simple phrase "Thank You" on the front accompanied with what appear to be a couple of baby footprints stamped on there in blue ink, much like you would see on a birth certificate. Jess "ooos" and "ahhhs" about how cute it is and then asks, "They're so tiny... I wonder if it's really their prints?"
I say, "Ummm Jess... has the baby been born yet?"
She responds, "Oh.... no.... I guess it wouldn't be then would it..."
We had a good laugh for a couple minutes after that.... especially me.

But they looked like they could be his prints… someday. It was how the card was printed! Come on now… work with me here.

Oh my gosh, Jess, I haven’t laughed that hard all day!!! Too funny! That is totally something of would have said, and since I’m not pregnant, my friends would attribute it to me being blonde. We actually now all have a jar we put a dollar into that’s labeled “Blonde Moments” for all these incidences!! so funny, we are related!
