Must… write… something…
Wow. Almost 3 months and I haven't posted. Admittedly sad for someone who is supposedly an übergeek and on top of this whole internet thing. I probably have a lot to write about, but doubt I'll think of it all, but at least an update for you all...
Jessica is going like gangbusters with home projects. The latest is building a play area in the side yard that's all fenced in so Abby can't destroy it. It's coming along quite nicely and perhaps might even be done by Jess' mental deadline of Maddie's 1st b-day party... another one of her upcoming projects.
Maddie is doing wonderfully getting more entertaining and learning new things daily. She's almost broken gum on tooth number 5 and is starting to stand on her own unsupported for a couple seconds at a time. She's crawling like mad and cruising wherever she can. She's saying "da da", "ma ma", "bye bye" pretty well, and maybe even an occasional "daw gee" (doggy). She's recently made several trips all they way upstairs for the first time. Everyone loves to stop and look at her wherever we go.
And me... well... I did a show again finally. A new show that was a "showcase" performance meaning it's new material that was being shown to industry professionals for their input, etc. The show is called "The Corporate Circus" and it's about exactly what you think it would be. I had a song to sing and the best thing was that we went from 1st rehearsal to opening night in 1 week and 2 days. I went from hearing my song for the first time to performing it in front of people in 6 days. I loved that schedule... seriously. It's the way shows should be.... meet... learn your stuff voraciously... and perform. In and out in a couple of weeks. That said, it looks like I might be in CCT's The Sound of Music this summer playing Uncle Max. I'm just awaiting confirmation from the director (Katie - are you out there?). That will be fun though... it's really the only part I could see myself playing in that show right now... will be fun for sure. And then work... remember the "new" job I took last October? Well that company merged with another and they decided to move everyone down to South Del Mar... just about the same distance as I was traveling to the job I left in October. So this didn't sit well with me and I began to respond to some job inquiries and have landed at a new company in Carlsbad doing.... you guessed it... web development! I think it's going to be good though... I'm still working on getting acclimated though... been there two weeks so far.
So... writing a blog. I've been wanting to write.... really. I've just had conflicting ideas in my head of what I want to say. What kind of a platform do I make this place? Can it even be called a platform? I guess it's just a place for me to babble.... about.... whatever. Whether someone is reading or not. If nothing else, it's something for me to look back on and get a glimpse of what life was like or what I was thinking about at this particular time in life. I have this desire to say deep and intelligent things... but those can't be forced at the particular time I happen to have to sit down and write a post. So to improve my writing skills in general (bowhunting skills, numchuck skills, computer hacking skills...) I just have to write... write... write. I did see an interesting post recently about Da Vinci's streamwriting. I'm going to have to master that and the deep and witty things will eventually come out, right? Only time will tell I suppose.
